                                Benjamin Cowart & Jalen Pina 2026             
      On January 26, 2026, at approximately 7:21 PM Carver Police received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at the St. John the Baptist Club located at 53 Silva Street. 
    Police and EMS arrived and located four (4) males suffering from gunshot wounds. Benjamin Cowart (27) was pronounced dead at the scene, Jalen Pina was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, later succumbing to his injuries, (Male #3) (28) was flown by helicopter to Tufts Medical Center, (Male #4) (32) was transported to South Shore Hospital in stable condition. The shooting occurred during his 7-year-old nephew's birthday party celebration at the club. 
    Nicholas Meuse (23) 
called 9-1-1 himself and told dispatchers that he was the shooter and it was self-defense. Nicholas told investigators he had been invited to the birthday party by a relative but had pre-existing conflicts with some of the attendees. Witnesses say Meuse began shooting once confronted by his brother. The brother was one of the wounded. Nicholas claimed to have seen one of the attendees reach for their waistband immediately before the incident, investigators only found a single gun — a 9-millimeter firearm with an obliterated serial number — at the scene.

Suspect Charged - Trial Pending     
  Nicholas Meuse (23) initially fled the scene but later surrendered to Carver police. Nicholas is charged with two (2) counts of murder and armed assault with intent to murder, as well as multiple gun charges.

            Pablo Rocha-DaSilva & Eduardo DaSilva 2026        
​    On June 10, 2026, approximately 8:30 PM Fall River Police received several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of 90 Aetna Street.  Upon arrival police located an unresponsive male lying on the sidewalk between 90 and 104 Aetna Street suffering from significant facial trauma from cobblestone. 
  A second male victim was located lying on the ground near 99 Aetna Street with a 
metal pitchfork impaled in the back of the head. Both males were pronounced deceased at the scene. The victims were later identified as Pablo Rocha-DaSilva (20) a resident of Whitman MA and Eduardo DaSilva (19) a Fall River resident.
   After a foot pursuit, Vitor Francisco Gomes (28) was taken into custody by Massachusetts State Police.  Vitor was covered in blood and possession of a bag containing a firearm and ammunition. 

Investigation
   Video surveillance captured the entire incident. Pablo Rocha-Dasilva, was shot, dragged out of a car and beaten with a cobblestone.
Eduardo DaSilva was found shot and with a pitchfork impaled in the back of his skull.
   Vitor Francisco Gomes (28) and the victims are known to each other. Vitor 
had an argument that night with Eduardo DaSilva that escalated, and Vitor left the scene and returned with a firearm.
   Vitor saw
 Eduardo DaSilva and Pablo Rocha-Dasilva in a vehicle, attempting to drive away. Vitor approached the driver’s side window where Pablo Rocha-Dasilva was sitting, pulled out a gun, and fired approximately three (3) shots.
    
Eduardo DaSilva fled to the rear of 99 Aetna Street, Vitor followed him and additional shots were heard. Eduardo DaSilva was later found “face-down, had apparently been shot and also been struck with a pitchfork that was impaled in the back of his head.”
        After the attack on Eduardo DaSilva, Vitor returned to the vehicle where he pulled Pablo Rocha-Dasilva from the car, draggged him across the street, beat him with the firearm until unconscious. Vitor took a cobblestone from the driveway of 90 Aetna St. and bashed Pablo Rocha-Dasilva in the head with it several times. Vitor then fled the scene, later captured on Vale Street.

    Vitor Francisco Gomes (28) has been charged with two (2) counts of Murder, Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

                                            Elizabeth & Nicholas Almeida 2026
   On January 30, 2026, at approximately 8:05PM Fall River Police received a 911 call reporting a shooting at 431 Barnes Street.  Upon arrival police and EMS located the victims, Elizabeth Almeida (54) and her son Nicholas Almeida (25) suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital and pronounced dead.
  After shooting both victims, Arlington Cole (54), Elizabeth's boyfriend, called 911 stating that he just shot his wife and son and that the gun was on the kitchen table.


Suspect Charged - Trial Pending
​​    Arlington Cole (54), Elizabeth's boyfriend, was taken into custody at the scene along with the firearm. He has been charged with two (2) counts of murder one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

                              Taiquan Texeira 2025
    On November 22, 2025, at 4:30PM Fall River Police responded to the area of Leonard's Package Store located at 1331 Pleasant Street for two (2) men fighting.
   Upon arrival police located a victim, identified as Taiquan Texeira (31) unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital and succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.

  On November 26, 2025, Kendrick Williams (32) was arrested in Jacksonville, Florida, and charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon causing Serious Bodily Injury, carrying a Firearm Subsequent Offense, and Carrying a Loaded Firearm.

                       Luis Xavier Perez Miranda 2025
         On October 6, 2025, at approximately 2:15 AM Fall River Police received a 911 call reporting a stabbing and possible death resulting at 57 Chesworth Street.  Upon arrival, Fall River Police and EMS located the victim, Luis Xavier Perez Miranda (53) stabbed in the chest. Luis was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead.

​​  Robert Hodgson Jr. (48) confessed to the crime and admitted he was the person who called 911. After calling 911 he fled the area, was later taken into custody. Robert stated they had shared the apartment for about a week after reconnecting as former cellmates, having known each other for over 15 years.

On March 15, 2025, at 12:30PM Fall River Police responded to 938 Rodman Street, Apt #3 for shots fired. Police and EMS located Jaleale Simmons (20) suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to St. Anne's Hospital and pronounced dead.

Suspect Charged - Trial Pending
​​    Jaylen Anthony Lambert (17), the brother of the victim, was arrested on murder and other charges. The shooting was the result of an argument. Jaylen was deemed not dangerous by the courts and was released while case is pending.

Suspect Arrested Unrelated Charges 2026
  On March 12, 2026, Fall River Police, which serving a warrant on a different individual, located Jaylen Lambert in an apartment in possession of a loaded firearm. He has been charged with seven (7) additional firearms charges.

                                             Joseph Bump 2024                         
     
On March 15, 2024, at 9:46 PM Fall River Police responded to a reported argument that escalated into a stabbing at 234 Tripp Street, a rooming house. 
     Police and EMS arrived and located the victim, Joseph Bump (44) 
suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:30PM from his injuries.

On March 17, 2024, Pedro Fernando Orellano Alvarado (42) was arrested and is charged with murder. On body-worn police camera video, Fernando admitted to stabbing Bump, but claimed self-defense.

On February 9, 2024, at 7:40 PM Fall River Police responded to a reported shooting at Blackstone and Nashua Streets, located behind Stop & Shop. 
     Police and EMS arrived and located the victim, Joshua Medeiros (34) critically wounded with multiple gunshot wounds. Joshua was transported to the trauma unit at St Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.
     On February 16, 2024, Joshua Medeiros 
succumbed to his injuries. His death has been ruled a homicide.

​     On June 26, 2024, Kevin Barton (32) was taken into custody in DeKalb County, Georgia. Barton is charged with murder, carrying an illegal firearm, carrying a loaded illegal firearm, larceny and possession of a large-capacity firearm. Barton was shot by law enforcement during his arrest in Georgia.

                      Colus Jamal-Mills Good 2024     
   
  On March 14, 2024, at 11:40 AM Fall River Police responded to a reported shooting in the 100 block of Rock Street.
     Police and EMS arrived and located the victim, Colus Jamall-Mills Good (18) critically wounded with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to St Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, 
during which time he was alert but declined to identify the perpetrators. He died while undergoing surgery.

   On March 22, 2024, 
Amannie Chiclana (19) was arrested and charged with 1st-degree murder and carrying an illegal firearm. Giovanni Nunes (18), Jadyn Ortiz (19) have been charged with accessory to murder-after the fact.

Verdict 2026 Xavien Figueroa-Valcarcel    
  Xavien plead guilty to the manslaughter and sentenced nine (9) to thirteen and 1/2 (13.5) years in prison. Xavien was the driver of the vehicle involved in the murder.

On December 23, 2023, at approximately 5:18PM Fall River Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a male shot at 326 Bank Street.  
      Fall River Police arrived on scene and located Juan Manuel Batista Castro (44) had been fatally shot on the front porch of the residence. A second victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand.

  On January 25, 2024, Angel Fabian Robles-Nicasio (22) of Willimantic, CT. was charged with Murder, Carrying an Illegal Firearm, and Conspiracy to Traffic Cocaine in connection with the murder. 

   On May 23, 2024, Lee George Maldanado (28) of Willimantic, CT. was indicted in Bristol County on murder charges, carrying an illegal firearm, armed kidnapping, conspiracy to violate the drug laws, attempt to commit a crime and two counts of attempted assault and battery by means of a firearm.

                       ​                              Jovanni Perez 2023             
    On October 14, 2023, approximately 12:18 p.m. Fall River Police responded to the area of 235 Locust Street for a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Upon arrival police located Jovanni Perez (18), who was then transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital where was pronounced dead at 1:41 p.m.
   Perez was exiting his girlfriend's home when Antwyne Robinson approached him and shot him multiple times and fled in a white Mercedes.
     After being shot, Perez managed to walk back into his girlfriend's apartment, and told her, "Antwyne shot me, Antwyne shot me.'"  Perez identified his shooter, talking and breathing and collapsed.

   On October 19, 2023, Antwyne Robinson (17) was arrested and charged with murder. Two days before the murder of Jovanni Perez, a juvenile court judge declared Robinson a danger for violating conditions of his bail on a separate criminal case and released the teen into to his mother's custody. On January 19, 2024, Antwyne was arraigned on murder and carrying a firearm carry without a license.

                                                        Diamonte Odom 2023                     
         
On May 13, 2023, approximately 10:45 p.m. Fall River Police received calls reporting shots fired near 275 County Street. Upon arrival police located Diamonte Odam (23) laying on the sidewalk. Diamonte was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday May 14, 2023. Autopsy determined he was shot in the face. A security camera from across the street also captured video of a person firing a gun seven (7) times and running away. 


Suspects Charged - Trial Pending
 On January 3, 2024, Four (4) men have been been indicated in connection to the murder of Diamonte Odam.

1. Quanif Johnson (26) has been charged with 1st-degree murder, firearms and narcotics charges. Quanif still faces charges in connection to an unrelated murder in Rhode Island.

2. Dioni Tavarez-Leonirio (25) is charged with 
Accessory to Murder-After the Fact. 

3. Devin Alves (18) is charged with Trafficking Fentanyl, Trafficking Cocaine and two counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

4. Tajon Saxon (26) was apprehended in New Bedford. Tajon is a suspect in the murders of Jovaughn Mills and Miguel Sanjurjo in May 2021

On May 18, 2021, at 4:22 PM Fall River Police responded to Griffin Park on Fifth Street for a multiple-victim shooting. Fall River Police and Paramedics arrived and located two (2) victims, Miguel Sanjurjo (14) and Jovaughn Antonio Mills (29) suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported by ambulance to the hospital but were pronounced dead.  A third victim (19), shot in the leg, was transported by private vehicle from the scene prior to police arriving.  A firearm was recovered from the scene. A total of thirteen (13) shots were fired. The third victim was uncooperative and invoked his Fifth Amendment privilege at trial.  

Suspects Charged - Trial Pending
   On May 25, 2021, Dana Mazyck (21) is charged with carrying an illegal firearm, carrying a loaded illegal firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building.  On September 2, 2021, Dana Mazyck was released by a Superior Court judge after two other judges had previously ruled, he was a danger to the community.  
   Dana Mazyck testified as a witness in the 1999 murder of Cecil Smith Jr. 


  On November 21, 2024, Tajon Saxon (26) was apprehended on a default warrant on charges of two (2) counts of Accessory to Murder after the fact. Tajon is also a suspect in the murder of Diamonte Odom in May 2023. 

Verdict 2024 Jeremy Holmes  
   On November 14, 2024, Jeremy Holmes (18) was found guilty of Murder, Assault and Battery and firearms charges, and sentenced to at least 50 years in prison.

    On September 20, 2023, approximately 4:24 AM Freetown Police were called to 92 Chace Road and discovered the victim, Heidi Chace (44) deceased from significant facial trauma. During the investigation it was determined the victim's boyfriend, Matthew Lucas (54) was a suspect.
​     A search of the area was initiated and at 8:40AM Matthew was located hiding in a shed at his brother's home on nearby Burns Lane. The murder weapon, a hammer, was recovered at the scene.
  Heidi was laid to rest in the Chace Road Cemetery

     Matthew Lucas has been charged with murder. 
                                                 James Rizzo 2026     
         On June 30, 2026, at 3:07PM Mattapoisett Police Department received a 911 call reporting a at 10 Harbor Road. Upon arrival police located a victim, James Rizzo (57) in the driveway suffering from several gunshot wounds. James was transported to St. Luke's Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 3:40PM
      A witness to shooting provided a detailed description of a red vehicle leaving the scene, and the operator was identified as the shooter. Officers responding to the initial call observed a red vehicle matching the description at a nearby intersection. Mattapoisett Police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver refused and engaged in a high-speed pursuit with speeds up to 90MPH. The pursuit ended at Front Street in Marion. Nicholas Bottella (33) of Fairhaven was placed under arrest; a female passenger was transported to the Mattapoisett Police station for questioning.
  Initially it appears the shooting is a result from a year-old neighbor dispute over a rented home next door.

                                  Paul Pomerleau 2025         
      On June 28, 2005, approximately 8:03 PM Middleboro Police received several 911 reporting a fight and stabbing at 19 Fairview Street. Police arrived and located the victim, Paul Pomerleau (66) suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to Morton Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:52 PM
     Andrew Horsman (41) was identified as the perpetrator. The victim was the long-term boyfriend of Andrew's mother, Tammy Horsman, and resided at the address.  Witnesses at the scene told investigators that an argument had broken out at the home over dinner, which led to the stabbing. A steak knife was found near Paul's body. Autopsy determined Paul had been stabbed seventeen (17) times. After the stabbing, Andrew poured lighter fluid over his body in an attempt to burn the body, but was stopped by the victim's son, Jamie Pomerleau.

   Andrew Horsman had fled the scene, prompting an extensive neighborhood search.  At approximately 10:30 PM, Andrew surrendered and called 911 to turn himself in.

                                                   Jordan Roman 2025          
         On April 29, 2025, approximately 9:59 P.M. New Bedford Police received a 911 call and a Shot Spotter activation in the area of Acushnet Avenue and Griffin Court for shots fired. Police arrived and located a black Hyundai parked on Acushnet Avenue with four (4) bullet holes in the passenger side window. Inside the vehicle, Jordan Roman (19), sitting in the driver's seat appeared to have been shot in the head. Jordan was transported to St. Luke's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
       Video surveillance from city cameras captured a blue Hyundai Elantra pulling up next to Jordan's vehicle at the time of the shooting. Jordan's vehicle also showed receiving multiple projectile strikes

​     On December 16, 2025, Virgil Brown III (26) was charged with accessory to murder after the fact. He is being held on $25,000 bail.

   On May 26, 2025, approximately 9:10 P.M. New Bedford Police received several 911 calls reporting a shooting in the area of Bedford and South Seventh Streets. Police arrived and located the victim, Kimberl Gedeon (21) suffering from multiple gunshots wounds. He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital and pronounced dead.

On July 16, 2025 six (6) individuals have been arrested in connection to Kimberl's murder. 
 
   1. Elias Ramos (18) charged with murder.

   2. William Allen Robinson (33) charged with murder and Carrying a Firearm Without a License
   3. Dariell Encarnacion Couvertier (17) charged with murder and Carrying a Firearm Without a License 
   4. Akhari Jones (30) charged with accessory after the fact to murder. 
   5. Nezziah Davis (19) charged with assault and battery by discharge of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license. 
   6. Keyshla Martinez Matta (19) charged with assault and battery by discharge of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.

On March 4, 2025, at approximately 6:20PM New Bedford Police responded to 438 Bolton Street for a report of a woman bleeding on the hallway on the first floor. Police arrived and discovered Karina Martinez-Ortiz (32) lying in front of her apartment door suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to St. Luke's Hospital where she was pronounced dead. 
      Karina was bringing supper to a neighbor to whom she had been introduced by a relative of his. The neighbor, who had moved into the building just four days before, was waiting for her to return to his apartment with the food.  Karina leaves behind three (3) children and was laid to rest in Rural Cemetery.

On March 6, 2025, Wilo Morales-Colon (49) was charged with 1st-degree murder and carrying a firearm without a license. Wilo taken into custody Springfield Mass. Wilo admitted to the shooting and led investigators to the firearm which was still in his vehicle.

        On January 11, 2025, approximately 1:21 AM New Bedford Police were called to Mourna Lounge & Grill located at 1627 Acushnet Avenue for multiple reports of gunfire inside the establishment.
   Upon arrival of New Bedford Police, located two (2) females suffering from gunshots wounds. Both females were transported by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital.
    The third victim, Cristiano Macedo (27) was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in a private vehicle and was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigators have indicated Cristiano was the intended target.

Suspect Charged - Trial Pending 
    On January 12, 2025, after an extended foot pursuit and ground search in Boston, Danielson Varela (19) was taken into custody in connection to Cristiano Macedo's murder. Varela is charged with 1st degree murder, unlawful possession of firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and two (2) counts of assault and battery.

      On August 4, 2024, approximately 1:36AM New Bedford Police received 911 call reporting multiple gun shots on Earle Street. Upon arrival police located Aaron Britto (44) on the grass between the rear of Morna Lounge and Grill and the residence of 234 Earle Street. Video surveillance footage captured the entire incident.
      Aaron was transported to St Luke's Hospital and pronounced dead.  

Suspect Charged - Trial Pending 
    On August 16, 2024, Anthony Jalo (21) was charged with murder.

Anthony is also charged with Armed Carjacking that took place on August 14, 2024, at the Boa Vista Towers apartment building. The two (2) victims were sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot when they were approached by Jalo and another man, Ruben Lima brandishing firearms. The victims were ordered out of the car at gunpoint and were instructed to leave behind personal belongings. Evidence from the carjacking incident connected Jalo to the murder of Aaron Britto.

    Ruben was found not guilty on all charges.  ​

                                   Ronald G. Sinclair 2024     
     On April 29, 2024, approximately 2:30 PM New Bedford Police were called to 51 Austin Street for a male, later identified at Ronald Sinclair (60) suffering from gunshot wound to his head. He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital. On May 3, 2024, Ronald Sinclair died from the injuries as a result of the shooting.
      Christopher Smith (38) attempted to flee the scene, resulting in a foot pursuit. He was apprehended in a rear yard of a Cottage Street home. A firearm was recovered in a large drum of liquid in a Chestnut Street area. 

     Witnesses told investigators they saw Christopher and Ronald having an argument. Christopher then left but returned with a firearm. Christopher then shot Ronald and run off with the gun in hand. 
       Ronald was the former partner of Christopher's mother, Christine Smith, who owns and resides in the residence with her son. Ronald shared children with Christine and was visiting when he was shot. Ronald was helping to look for car keys so that Christine could give Christopher a ride when he was shot, Christopher later admitted to investigators he shot Ronald.

Christopher Smith was charged with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.

                                            Lorenzo F. Gomes 2023                       
      On July 3, 2023, at approximately 12:11AM New Bedford Police responded to the area of Tallman and North Front Streets for a ShotSpotter activation. Police located spent shells at the scene, and a vehicle damaged by gunfire. There were no victims or witnesses at the scene. 
    A few minutes after the ShotSpotter alert, New Bedford Police received a 911 call from a man who said he was on a cell phone call with his friend, Lorenzo Gomes (20). The caller stated he was on the phone with Gomes when he heard what he believed to be gunshots. According to the caller, Gomes stated he had been hit and then became unresponsive. Police were able to ping the cellphone belonging to Lorenzo indicating the area of the Tallman Street-North Front Street intersection. 
      A white Acura was located near the location, Lorenzo was discovered in the car, suffering from two (2) gunshots, one (1) to the chest and one (1) to the back. Lorenzo had a loaded, firearm on his lap, which was later determined was never fired. Police seized that weapon, and transported Lorenzo to St. Luke's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

    On July 3, 2023, Sterling Robinson (24) was charged with Accessory to Murder After the Fact.
   
Verdict 2026 Xavier Luis Roderiguez  
   On March 20, 2026, Xavier Luis Roderiguez was found guilty of Murder and Carrying a Firearm Without a License.
He was sentenced to
life in prison with the possibility of parole after serving 28 years. 

Verdict 2026 Wyllie Monteiro   
   On April 24, 2026, Wyllie Monteiro plead guilty to Manslaughter and Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm. He was sentenced to 12 1/2 years in prison.

     On March 13, 2023, at 10:52 PM the Shotspotter system was activated for thirteen (13) rounds in the area of Dartmouth and Dunbar Streets.  New Bedford Police arrived and located a black Dodge Charger parked on the south side of Dunbar Street. Located inside the vehicle, in the driver's seat, was Derek Pires (29). Pires had been shot multiple times. Pires was transported to St Luke's Hospital, however, was pronounced dead at 1:30AM on March 14, 2023. Pires leaves behind his fiancée and three (3) children.

   On July 5, 2023, Gianni Carter-Joyner (28), already in custody on an unrelated matter, was charged with Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Transportation of a Firearm into the Commonwealth, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and two counts of Carrying an Illegal Firearm-Subsequent offense.

   On April 29, 2022, around 1:01AM Luis Miranda (36) was discovered shot multiple times inside a vehicle in front of 193 Weld Street. Police and EMS responded and discovered Miranda sitting inside a Chrysler Sebring suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

   On May 15, 2022, Jonathan Medina Perez (41) of Fall River and Jonathan Gonsalves (33) of New Bedford have been arrested in connection to the murder of Luis Miranda. Perez is charged with murder and two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, Gonsalves is charged with accessory to murder before and after the fact.

                                     Rayshard Normil-Jerome 2021            
 
   
On July 26, 2021, Rayshard Normil-Jerome (18) had attended a party across the street from Clasky Common Park. Witnesses reported that Normil-Jerome was informed that a certain individual, also attending the party, didn't want him there. Normil-Jerome then left the party with a friend and went across the street into Clasky Common Park.
   The witness stated shortly thereafter, six to seven individuals chased Normil-Jerome through the park, brought him to the ground and started kicking and assaulting him. 
      ​On July 27, 2021, at 1:24AM a Massachusetts State Police trooper was flagged down by a woman walking near Clasky Common Park. She informed the trooper about a male laying unresponsive inside the park. The trooper located Normil-Jerome suffering from multiple stab wounds. New Bedford Police and EMS responded and transported Normil-Jerome to St Luke's Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

  Latrell Baskin (21) was arrested after fleeing the scene and admitted to chasing and kicking Rayshard. In addition to Latrell, police arrested a 16-year-old male, who is also being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

On May 14, 2021, at 6:45 PM New Bedford Police responded to multiple 9-1-1- calls at the Richdale Foods store on Brock Avenue regarding a possible shooting. Police and Paramedics arrived and located Joseph Pauline (32) in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. He was transported to St Luke's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On May 18, 2021, Christopher Boyer (19) and Anthony Rosario (20) were both located in Brockton at the Super 8 Motel and transported back to New Bedford for questioning as to their role in the homicide. Christopher was subsequently charged with accessory to murder after the fact and was held on bail. Anthony was charged with assault and battery to collect a loan. 
     On June 8, 2021, Malique Smith (20) was charged with murder, carrying illegal firearm, Carrying a loaded illegal firearm in connection to the incident.

On July 17, 2020, at approximately 4:30 A.M. The Shotspotter System was activated in the area of Margin Street.  New Bedford Police responded to a multi-family home at 17 Margin Street and located the victim, Keven Rocha (25), he had been shot four (4) times. The house was shot at an additional seven (7) times from outside. 
   Bruno Lopes (24) and Keven Rocha (the victim) were captured on video surveillance arriving on Margin Street. Both men entered the home, at which point, it is alleged that Keven pointed a gun at the people inside. A struggle ensued and Keven was apparently shot and killed with his own gun.
    After initially leaving the home on foot, Bruno was seen on video surveillance going back to the home with another gun a few minutes later and shooting at the house from outside at least seven (7) times.

   On July 23, 2020, Ricardo Velez-Gonzalez (33) was charged with Manslaughter in connection to the death of Keven Rocha.                      
Verdict 2025 Bruno Lopes                                                                                                                                                                             Bruno was convicted of Carrying Firearm without a License, carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Attempted Assault and Battery with a Firearm and sentenced to 4 1/2 to 6 years in prison.

       On December 27, 2016, approximately 11:40 P.M. Justin Ortiz (21) was discovered in the 2nd floor hallway of 51 Tallman Street shot in the head. Justin was transported to St Luke's Hospital, then transferred to Rhode Island Hospital where he died on December 30, 2016. Ortiz had previously served in the U.S. Marines for 3 1/2 years.

   January 17, 2017, Justin Camacho (21) was charged with the misleading portion of the witness intimidation statute, as part of the ongoing investigation into Justin's murder. Judge John Stapleton granted prosecutors' request, ordering all documents and reports in Camacho's case to be sealed. Subsequent plea deals, sentencing timelines, or specific terms of probation for Camacho's intimidation charge were kept out of public logs.

     On July 21, 2021, Joshua J. Lobo (21) was indicted for involuntary manslaughter and armed robbery in misleading investigators, intimidation of a witness and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Joshua is a known Latin Kings member.

      Kylee Monteiro (18) was last seen on August 7, 2025, in the area of 107 County Street in Rehoboth.
   Kylee recently been residing at a homeless shelter for pregnant women. She arrived at 107 County Street, the home of her boyfriend, and father of her unborn child, Gregory Groom (22) to gather her belongings. 
Gregory reported Kylee missing on August 8, 2025, to the Rehoboth Police Department.
     On August 19, 2025, after an admission, and providing investigators a map of the location where Kylee's remains could be found, a search warrant was issued. Kaylee's remains were discovered buried 20 yards from the shed in the exact location provided by Gregory.​

   On August 19, 2025, Gregory Groom was charged with murder, aggravated assault and battery on a pregnant person, domestic assault and battery, and aggravated intimidation of a witness. Gregory confessed to stabbing and burying her body.

           On April 30, 2025, Taunton Police were called to the construction site behind Bristol-Plymouth Technical High School for a deceased male. Police located the victim, identified as Stephan Myers (39) of Falmouth MA, deceased from a single gunshot. Investigators have indicated there is no known connection between the victim and the school.

   On June 6, 2025, David Jones (39) of Roxbury was charged with murder and carrying a firearm without a license.  David was out on bail at the time of the alleged murder for unrelated crimes in Stoughton in 2024.

       On May 4, 2024, approximately 9:45 AM Taunton Police were called to 155 Highland Street for a man, later identified as Jhonny Lajoie (32), found shot to death inside a furnished shed. Several neighbors reporting hearing gunshots at 1AM on May 4, 2024.

     On September 19, 2024, at 12:25 AM Taunton Police received 911 call reporting a shooting at 351 Lothrop Street. Police arrived and located Khamitri Cole (17) of Brockton dead and another individual (18), a Holyoke resident, also suffering from a gunshot wound. The unnamed individual male self-transported to Morton Hospital.
Khamitri is a resident of Brockton and was at the residence for a party.

   On September 24, 2024, Kareem Gendraw (18), of Randolph, was taken into custody in Medford. He is charged with to murder, carrying an illegal firearm, assault and battery with a firearm, and intimidating a witness.

                        Kevin & Shawn Vargas 2008   
    On February 24, 2008, around 2:15 P.M. Kevin (23) & Shawn Vargas (20) were found shot in their apartment at 729 Somerset Avenue after Taunton Police received calls reporting gunshots. Both men were transported to Morton Hospital where they were pronounced dead.  Taunton Police Department and the State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office announced a reward, up to $10,000, has been established for information that leads to the arrest or arrests of any individuals involved in the killings.

Verdict 2021 Kevin Cox    
    In May 2021, Keith Cox plead guilty to manslaughter and armed robbery and was sentenced to 7 to 10 years in prison.

Verdict 2021 Matthew Lander  
   Matthew Lander (28) was charged with two (2) counts of murder and one (1) count of armed robbery.  In September 2021, a jury found Matthew Lander not guilty on all charges.

  On June 28, 2024, Stephen Fordham (38) and Kaylen Scott (36) have been charged with two (2) counts of murder.

​                                      Suzanna Sanchez Alvarado 2005          
             O​n October 14, 2005, Suzanna Sanchez Alvarado (42) walked out of 115 Campbell Street in New Bedford, after saying good-bye to her husband of twelve (12) years, Alejandro Sanchez Alvarado, for a night out.  On October 16, 2005, after Suzanna not arriving back at home after two (2) days, she was reported missing to New Bedford Police. Investigators determined Suzanna was arrested on October 14, 2005, by New Bedford Police on charges of public drunkenness and prostitution. She was released from the Bristol County House of Correction that same day. Where she went after being released is unknown.
​     On October 17, 2005, 
Suzanna's body was discovered beaten almost beyond recognition and strangled to death on the Route 88 on-ramp to I-195 eastbound in Westport. 
 
DNA Evidence 2020     
     In 2005 evidence from the crime scene was collected and a DNA profile was developed using traditional DNA testing procedures. This DNA profile was entered into CODIS, but there was no match to a known individual.
     In 2020, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab performed a forensic review of the case with advances in forensic DNA testing. Two (2) biological samples were recovered from Suzanna's shirt and one (1) from her body.

   On December 18, 2024, Simao Faria (62) was charged with murder.  Simao was identified as the source of the biological DNA samples.
